McEvoy reunited with Lucia Valentina

Friday 12 August 2016, 6:09am

Kerrin McEvoy will be reunited with Lucia Valentina when she takes on Winx in the Warwick Stakes.

McEvoy won the 2014 Turnbull Stakes on the Kris Lees-trained mare but Damien Oliver rode her to win the Queen Elizabeth Stakes in April.

Oliver has commitments in Melbourne on Saturday week when the mare resumes.

Lees will also enter Lucia Valentina in the Show County Quality on the same day but says the Warwick Stakes is his preferred option.

Stablemate Le Romain, winner of the Randwick Guineas, will return in the Show County with Christian Reith to ride.

McEvoy was also aboard Lucia Valentina when she ran third in the 2014 Caulfield Cup behind Admire Rakti and Rising Romance.

The mare is being aimed at the Cox Plate in October.
