A better barrier draw has boosted David Hayes' hopes Fast `N' Rolling can break through for his first win in the Listed Taj Rossi Series Final.

Fast `N' Rolling has gate seven in Saturday's 1600m race for two-year-olds at Flemington with Hayes encouraged by the colt's last-start third at the same track over 1400m.

"I thought his run was excellent the other day from a bad barrier," Hayes said.

Fast `N' Rolling jumped from gate 13 and raced three-wide with eventual winner Trenchant tracking him into the race before sprinting clear.

Godolphin's Trenchant is the $2.90 favourite ahead of Cobbmore $4.40 and Fast `N' Rolling ($6).

Hayes is expecting a better showing from Fast `N' Rolling's stablemate All Out Of Love after he got back in the race won by Trenchant and made little impression in the straight, finishing 13th.

Hayes has applied blinkers to the colt who won a Pakenham maiden two starts ago.

"All Out Of Love raced like he needed blinkers last start and needed to get to the outside," Hayes said.

"So forget he went around. I think he could improve a lot."

The Lindsay Park team of Hayes and Tom Dabernig also has two chances in the Listed Winter Championship Series Final (1600m) while Hayes believes the Queen's horse Bold Sniper is capable of bouncing back from his last-start fourth when he runs in the Banjo Paterson Series Final.

Jacquinot Bay has won two heats of the Winter Championship Series at Flemington and will be joined in Saturday's Final by 2014 Sandown Guineas winner Petrology.

"Jacquinot Bay is in wonderful form and I'm really happy with him," Hayes said.

"Petrology will be ridden cold and we'll see if that works like it did in the Sandown Guineas."
