The city winners have been flowing for apprentice Jake Bayliss in the past month and he is hoping his run can continue at Moonee Valley.

The 21-year-old has been making the most of his recent opportunities with six winners over the past four Saturday meetings in Melbourne, including doubles at Sandown on May 28 and Flemington last week.

"I'm having a tremendous run. It's probably a career-best wave of winners in town and I've got plenty of momentum up," Bayliss, who also notched a winner on Wednesday at Sandown, said.

Bayliss is thankful to have been able to gain strong support from prominent owner Rupert Legh and trainer Mike Moroney.

He has combined with them for a win at each of the past four Saturday meetings on Loyalty Man, Lord Barrington, War Legend and Araldo Junior.

"He (Legh) likes my attitude and dedication to racing," Bayliss said.

Bayliss rides the Moroney-trained Rhythm To Spare, who is part-owned by Legh, in Saturday's Travis Harrison Cup.

Bayliss rode the horse in a jump-out last Friday and believes it was a convincing enough trial to suggest he can run a good race on Saturday on soft ground.

His book of four rides also includes Vibrant Rouge for another of his main supporters, his boss Mick Kent.

Vibrant Rouge will be having her first start for the Kent stable.

Last-start Sandown runner-up Chiavari is considered to Bayliss's leading hope in the Silver Thomas Hanley (1000m).

"I do believe it will probably be the hardest task of the past few Saturdays to keep the run going," Bayliss said.

"But then again it's never easy. So I'm confident that I can get a result somewhere."
