Return runner close for Tony Vasil

Tuesday 7 June 2016, 7:14am

An eight-year-old gelding could be trainer Tony Vasil's first runner in more than two years.

General Truce, unplaced last month for trainer Ricky Maund, has been nominated for races at Swan Hill on Friday and Flemington on Saturday.

Vasil, who trained Elvstroem to five Group One wins, hasn't had a runner since Elite Elle finished second at Moonee Valley in March 2014.

The Caulfield-based horseman walked away from training shortly after, battling depression.

General Truce and another eight-year-old, Kafafel, are the only two horses currently listed under Vasil's name.
