Smart to Venture out at Rosehill for Ryan

Friday 3 June 2016, 4:50pm

As far as her trainer is concerned, Smart Venture's career begins at Rosehill.

Gerald Ryan says the two-year-old's first official start at Wyong on May 17 is one that is best forgotten.

The filly finished ninth of 10 in an 1100m maiden won by Henry The Createth, one of her rivals over 1200m on Saturday.

"She is a really nice filly and you should take no notice of her run at Wyong," Ryan said.

"She nearly fell and it's best forgotten."

Henry The Createth gave new Rosehill resident Michael Freedman his first Australian winner since he relocated from Singapore and will be his first metropolitan runner.

Among Ryan's other runners is consistent sprinter Inz'n'out in the 1400m open handicap.

In three starts this campaign, Inz'n'out has run three minor placings over 1100m including his second in the Listed Ortensia Stakes on May 14 at Scone.

He was in a close finish when third behind That's A Good Idea and Oxford Poet at Randwick last week.

"I might have made a mistake keeping him at the 1100 metres last time," Ryan said.

"This will be his second try at the 1400 and a wet track won't worry him."

At his only other start over the distance as a late two-year-old, Inz'n'out led for most of the race until he was overhauled by a filly called Winx.

While Inz'n'out has not reached the same heights as Winx, he has still earned his owners more than $360,000, a handsome return on his $70,000 yearling sale price.
