Peter Robl has faith in Tegan Harrison

Friday 3 June 2016, 3:50pm

As a former jockey, trainer Peter Robl knows how he wants his horses ridden and reckons Tegan Harrison and Eloping are a perfect match.

Harrison was aboard Eloping when she scored a runaway win in the Silk Stocking (1200m) against fillies and mares on May 7 and will again ride the mare in Saturday's Group Two QTC Cup at Eagle Farm.

Robl believes the run showed Eloping, the winner of five stakes races and $1.2 million prize money, was back near her best.

"I booked Tegan for the Silk Stocking because she can get her horses to jump and then run along. It worked out perfectly in the Silk Stocking and let's hope it works again," Robl said.

"Eloping is pretty one-dimensional so there is no secret about how to ride her. It is just a matter of getting the best out of her and Tegan seems to be able to do that."

Eloping's Silk Stocking win was Robl's first black-type success since he began training late last year.

Harrison has picked up the ride on last-start Group Three winner Mighty Lucky who is stepping from the 1600m of the Lord Mayor's Cup to 2200 in the Group Two Eagle Farm Cup.

"Riding in stakes races is what it is all about and to be on genuine chances is exciting," Harrison said.
