Bowman to make Singapore cameo appearance

Tuesday 31 May 2016, 3:30pm

Singapore will be the next international port of call for Hugh Bowman.

Having recently returned from a month long stint in Japan, Bowman has been granted a one-day licence to ride at the Queen Elizabeth II Cup meeting at Kranji on Sunday.

Bowman has been booked to ride the Leslie Khoo-trained Fastnet Dragon in Sunday's Group One race over 2000m.

He rode the gelding into third place in the Singapore Derby over the same trip last July.

After a successful Sydney autumn carnival where he claimed the Nathan Berry Medal as leading rider at The Championships, Bowman headed to Hong Kong and captured the Queen Elizabeth Cup at Sha Tin on the John Moore-trained Werther before starting his Japan contract.

Bowman made a return trip to Australia to ride at Doomben on May 21 and rides for the first time in Sydney since April 23 with a full book at the Warwick Farm meeting on Wednesday.
