Doomben stipes adjourn BTC Cup fall probe

Saturday 14 May 2016, 6:05pm

Stewards have adjourned an inquiry into Michael Cahill's fall from Artlee after the finishing post in the BTC Cup at Doomben.

Cahill suffered concussion and a shoulder injury when thrown from Artlee 50m past the line.

Stewards took evidence from Glenn Colless, Blake Shinn, Paul King and Jason Collett.

Chief steward Martin Knibbs said Collett appeared to be going for a run inside the other three jockeys but outside Cahill near the line.

He said after crossing the line all horses appeared to shift in and Artlee was checked.

"In fairness to Michael Cahill we will adjourn until we can take evidence from him," Knibbs said.
