Rosehill EPO samples negative

Friday 28 August 2009, 4:05pm

Racing NSW stewards have continued their vigilance with out-of-competition testing for the drug EPO and taken samples from 50 horses stabled at Rosehill.

They directed tests to be carried out on horses from 16 trainers on Friday.

The samples were sent to the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory for analysis with no positive results returned.

In addition, stewards conducted inspections of all Warwick Farm stables to ensure that trainers were meeting their obligations under AR80E of having all relevant therapeutic substances dispensed and labelled in accordance with state legislation, with particular emphasis being placed on the prohibited substance aminocaproic acid.

No significant breaches were detected during the inspections.
