A stakes test for You're So Good will have to wait a little longer with trainer Nigel Blackiston to use a midweek race at Sandown to gauge the filly's autumn prospects.

Blackiston has You're So Good nominated for the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on Saturday but confirmed stablemate Balaclava Lady as his only runner.

You're So Good, winner of her only start at Moonee Valley, returns from a let-up in the D'Urban Stakes (1200m) on Wednesday with Craig Williams aboard.

"I think she's got the potential to be a stakes filly," Blackiston said.

"Listed (level) at worst and could possibly be a bit better later on."

You're So Good made her winning debut in December at a Friday night meeting.

Blackiston then decided to give her a week in the paddock and some time on the water walker before bringing her back to work.

"She trialled nicely down the straight (at Flemington) last Friday and this is a nice race to give me a good guide on where we can head with her for the rest of the autumn," Blackiston said.

You're So Good is a daughter of Savabeel and her dam, Lightning Spur, is a three-quarter sister to outstanding sprinter Melito.

Blackiston believes the filly's best distance will be between 1400m and 1600m.

Options for three-year-old fillies in Melbourne in the coming weeks include the Group Three Vanity Stakes (1400m) on Saturday week, the Group Two Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) on February 23 and the Group Two Kewney Stakes (1400m) on March 9.

Balaclava Lady is being aimed at some of those races and has pleased Blackiston ahead of her return in the Kevin Hayes Stakes.

The daughter of Charge Forward was a city winner at Caulfield last preparation and ended her spring campaign with fourth placings in the Group Two Fillies Classic (1600m) at Moonee Valley and the Listed Lexus Hybrid Plate (1400m) on Melbourne Cup day.

"She is the more professional of the two fillies at this stage," Blackiston said.

"She was unlucky not to have won at Flemington on Cup day. She was boxed in on the rail," he said.

"She'll start off on Saturday and head towards those fillies races over the autumn carnival. If she's good enough we may even go to Sydney with her."

Balaclava Lady and You're So Good have also been nominated for next month's Australian Guineas should their form warrant taking on the colts and geldings.
