My Quest For Peace to miss autumn

Wednesday 30 January 2013, 3:58pm

Australian Cup hopeful My Quest For Peace has been ruled out of the autumn due to a lung infection.

The imported galloper arrived in Australia under the care of Luca Cumani last spring and contested the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, finishing fifth and 10th respectively.

He remained in Victoria after the carnival and was transferred to leading Melbourne trainer Peter Moody.

Part owners OTI Racing confirmed via Twitter on Wednesday that the horse would miss the autumn.

"To enable My Quest For Peace to recover from a lung infection, he will be spelled immediately and will miss autumn. Back for spring," a tweet from OTI Racing said.

The five-year-old was among nominations for the Group One Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington in March and the Group One Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Randwick in April.
