Two Shoes shows rivals clean pair of heels

A short break in the paddock has been the catalyst for Toowoomba filly Two Shoes to land a decent cheque for her owner at Doomben.

Backed into $4.20 favourite, Two Shoes maintained her unbeaten record when she beat Red Handle ($4.60) by 2-3/4 lengths in the Suez Handicap.

She picked up $78,000 in prize money and two different bonus payments.

Two Shoes was having her first run since winning at Toowoomba on November 7.

"After the Toowoomba win I decided to give her time in the paddock to let her grow and mature. She has come back a really nice horse and the break did her the world of good to get ready for a city race," trainer Tony Sears said.

"She picked up the prize money, the QTIS bonus and a fillies bonus today so it has been a big payday."

Sears said he would now look for more QTIS two-year-old races for the filly.

Two Shoes cost $16,000 at the Magic Millions sales last year and has now returned owner Alexandra Fleming $95,000 in prize money.

The Fleming family are long-term clients of Sears and have had many good horses including Don Vito and Caledonian Call.
