Whyte in Melbourne to ride Boban in Orr

Friday 12 February 2016, 9:47am

Hong Kong-based jockey Douglas Whyte has had an opportunity to get an insight from Glyn Schofield about the idiosyncrasies of Boban ahead of the C F Orr Stakes.

Schofield has ridden Boban to five Group One wins but misses Saturday's race through suspension with 13-time Hong Kong champion Whyte jumping at the chance to take the ride for the Chris Waller stable.

Whyte, who arrived in Melbourne on Friday morning, said Boban looked to have been trialling well ahead of Saturday's weight-for-age race in which he is one of 13 Group One winners in the 18-horse field.
