Jockey Chad Schofield has been granted an extension of his licence to ride in Hong Kong until the end of this season.

Schofield has been riding in Hong Kong since the start of the 2015-16 season and was initially on a six-month Club Jockey's licence.

The Hong Kong season finishes on July 10.

Schofield, who was a champion apprentice in both Sydney and Melbourne and won the Cox Plate on Shamus Award in 2013, has ridden 11 winners in Hong Kong so far this season to be in the top 10 in the premiership.

He posted on Twitter that he was "absolutely thrilled" to have his licence extended for another six months.
