Fahey ends season on equal record

Friday 1 January 2016, 7:44am

Richard Fahey has just failed to better retired trainer Richard Hannon snr's British record of 235 winners in a calendar year with his final runner of 2015 finishing second.

Billy Bond had to settle for the runner-up spot behind Bold Prediction, when beaten three lengths.

"Wasn't meant to be, very happy just to have got to 235," Fahey tweeted.

"Massive thank you to everyone at Musley Bank. Happy New Year.

"We'll do it next year."

The Malton trainer had equalled Hannon's best with a double through Gabrial The Hero and Luis Vaz De Torres at the same course on Monday.
