Bid Of Faith on the road to Highway

Monday 30 November 2015, 4:55pm

On the same day her elder brother Zin Zan Eddie tries to enhance his metropolitan record at Randwick, Bid Of Faith will make her first trip to the city.

The Keith Dryden-trained filly by Zizou out of Exclusive Bid runs in the next instalment of the Highway Handicap on Saturday.

The Highway Handicaps, introduced in October, are $40,000 Class Two and Three races over a range of distances restricted to horses trained in the country.

So far, horses from the south-eastern part of the state have dominated with Dryden's Canberra neighbour Matt Dale racking up three wins from the past four races and Queanbeyan trainer Neville Layt winning the first on October 17.

The filly comes to Randwick on the back of two home-track wins.

"We have very strong racing in Canberra and the surrounding areas and the results of these Highway Handicaps shows that," Dryden said.

"There are strong stables at Queanbeyan and Goulburn within 70 kilometres of here.

"I hope this filly can measure up. I'm also hoping she can get a good draw because she has had to work forward at her past two and I think she is better with cover.

"She's a full sister to Zin Zan Eddie and he goes well."

The Matthew Smith-trained Zin Zan Eddie, who has earned more than $300,000 from four wins and eight placings, is among the entries for Saturday's Benchmark 93 (1400m).

The gelding finished second to Howmuchdoyoulovme in a similar class race over 1100 metres on November 14 with the latter going on to run third in Saturday's Listed Starlight Stakes won by Dublin Lass.

South Coast trainer Robert Price has entered Admission and Noble Joey. Price won a Highway race with Dashie Deluxe on November 14 and has vowed to enter horses in the event every week.
