Trip To Paris out of the money in Japan

Monday 30 November 2015, 7:00am

Caulfield Cup runner-up Trip To Paris has finished out of the money in the Japan Cup won by Shonan Pandora in a tight finish from Last Impact.

Ridden by Sydney jockey Tommy Berry, the Ed Dunlop-trained Trip To Paris finished 14th, about 4-1/2 lengths from the winner in his first start since his fourth in the Melbourne Cup.

The trainer said Trip To Paris would now be rested and would not go to Hong Kong for the International Vase in two weeks.

"He got a long way back early on, which was surprising from his draw in stall two, but it looks like this was one race too many," Dunlop said.

"He didn't have the same sparkle as he showed in Melbourne. He'll have a holiday now, but stays in training."
