Rafha's Choice wins for the second time

Saturday 28 November 2015, 1:22pm

Rafha's Choice has already reimbursed his owners and will now try to reward them with victory in a $500,000 race.

The Bede Murray-trained colt led all the way over 1100m at Rosehill on Saturday to post his second win and earn a start in the Inglis Nursery at Randwick in two weeks.

The two-year-old was a $60,000 yearling purchase at the Classic sale earlier this year and took his earnings to $86,000 with his second win from as many starts.

"He has produced everything I've asked of him so far," Murray said.

"The Inglis race in two weeks is back to a 1000 metres and that will suit.

"It's worth a lot of money too."

Rafha's Choice also led to win a 900m race on debut at his home track, Kembla Grange.

When challenged on Saturday by Attention ($9.50), Rafha's Choice ($5) dug deep to beat him by a neck with the favourite Taj Mahal ($3.90) another neck third.

He also gave Blake Shinn a winning return with the jockey sidelined by suspension since the beginning of the month.

"It's great to ride a winner for Bede," Shinn said.

"The horse felt great and was still strong on the line."
