Capitalist starts run towards Millions

Wednesday 25 November 2015, 3:08pm

Magic Millions favourite Capitalist is expected to have a lead-up run to the rich Gold Coast race at Wyong with the unbeaten colt on target to trial early next month.

Trainer Peter Snowden said Capitalist, an impressive winner of the Breeders' Plate at his only start, would contest a barrier trial at Rosehill on December 8.

"Depending on how he goes he'll probably head to Wyong for the Magic Millions race," Snowden said.

The $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic will be run on December 17.

Snowden unveiled another promising two-year-old at Warwick Farm on Wednesday when Quick Feet made a winning debut in the GSSSA Winners Plate (1000m).

Specked late to start $14, Quick Feet kept to the fence for Kerrin McEvoy and gained the ascendancy over Serena's Pride to beat the Gai Waterhouse-trained filly by a short neck.

Quick Feet is the most expensive filly sired by Northern Meteor as a $540,000 purchase at this year's Australian Easter Yearling Sale for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, owner of the Snowden-trained Group One winner Pride Of Dubai.

Snowden said Quick Feet was an uncomplicated filly who was likely to have another run before being turned out.

"She's got one of those fantastic attitudes you want to see from two-year-olds," he said.

"Nothing's a problem. Anything you want her to do she does with no fuss.

"Another run might not hurt. There's a fair bit of upside to her and she'll only improve with a bit of racing."
