Wide draw for main G1 Railway contenders

Tuesday 17 November 2015, 4:57pm

The favourites for Saturday's $1 million Railway Stakes at Ascot will have to overcome wide barrier draws.

Delicacy, the $4.20 favourite and second pick Real Love ($5) have gates 15 and 13 respectively, no thanks to owners Bob and Sandra Peters at Tuesday morning's draw.

But the Peters will be comforted knowing that the star mares will be in capable hands, with William Pike riding Delicacy and Damien Oliver on Real Love.

Another strong favourite, the Vaughan Sigley-trained Lee Steere Stakes winner Black Heart Bart, is pegged at $4.80 and will start from barrier 11.

And the 2010 Railway Stakes-winning jockey Craig Williams will have to make do with barrier 12 on the board Chris Waller-trained Good Project.
