Deep pockets behind 2YO's Brisbane debut

Thursday 29 October 2015, 11:30am

Two-year-old How Big's The Hole stands out in form guides because of her unusual name, but she could soon be the subject of talk based on her ability.

How Big's The Hole makes her debut in the TH Cock Electrical & Communications Handicap at Doomben on Saturday.

The Chris Anderson-trained filly is raced by a syndicate headed by Wayne Innes who is responsible for her name.

"Wayne is in charge of the tunnels being built at Eagle Farm. In fact he earns his living by digging holes," Anderson said.

"Also, he has put a lot of money into racing and he is always saying "how big is the hole" (the money going into racing,)" Anderson said.

How Big's The Hole caught the eye when she won a recent trial at Deagon after being ridden to settle in her races.

Anderson is quietly confident about the filly's chances but is well aware of the challenge he faces from Les Ross's trio of Rainy Day Woman, Fallen For You, and Mishani Believer.

But he isn't afraid of a rain-affected track.

"I trained How Big's The Hole's mother Imagining and she won in the wet," he said.

"On breeding it shouldn't worry our filly and might a trouble a few others."
