All Too Dominant

Thursday 17 January 2013, 9:05am

FUTURE Vinery Stud resident stallion All Too Hard has been named equal Champion Three Year Old Miler (Turf) in the wake of his Caulfield Guineas victory over Pierro and his second placing in the Cox Plate.

All Too Hard shared the prestigious honour with 2000 Guineas winner Camelot and South African superstar Variety Club. Camelot was champion European juvenile in 2011 before winning the first two legs of the 'Triple Crown', namely the Qipco 2000 Guineas (G1) at Newmarket and the Investec Derby (G1) at Epsom before narrowly failing to win the third leg, the Ladbrokes St Leger (G1) at Doncaster.

Triple Group One winner Variety Club won the KRA Guineas (G1) at Greyville in May in a stellar year that reaped six wins and two second placings from eight runs. The latest release of the World Thoroughbred Rankings was an all out triumph for All Too Hard's dam Helsinge whose unparalleled daughter Black Caviar was named Champion Sprinter for the third time.

All Too Hard has always been an imposing horse. The colt was the top priced lot at the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale selling for $1.025m to the bid of Hawkes Racing. All Too Hard kicked off his career with an easy win in the Listed VRC Talindert Stakes (1100m) before his breathtaking 4-lens triumph in the Group 2 VRC Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m).

His only other runs as a two-year-old included a soft win in the Pago Pago Stakes before his second placing in the Group 1 Sires' Produce (1400m) at Randwick. All Too Hard has returned to Rosehill to be readied for his autumn campaign which will see him race in the familiar green and white `v` of Vinery Stud.
