Dynamic Syndications Celebrate their 10th Anniversary of Racetrack Winners

Friday 23 October 2015, 3:41pm

Saturday October 22, 2005, was a red letter day in the life of the newly formed company and its registered trading name DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS.

The races were at Rosehill that day and Dynamic Syndications were having our first starter under our new company, from the yearlings we had purchased earlier that year.

The then 2yo filly, was named UP’N’DOING (by JETBALL from BEKTRIS). She was trained by Graeme Rogerson and ridden by Lenny Beasley and started $3.00 favourite based on an impressive trial win at Randwick leading into her debut run.

Up'n'Doing as a yearling

History shows she won the race and in the process, beat subsequent Stakes Winner and Multiple Stakes Performer My Lady’s Chamber.

Then at her second raceday start at Randwick, she won again this time ridden by Kanichiro Fuji defeating My Lady’s Chamber for a second time.

UP’N’DOING won 2 races over 1000m and 1100m and $108,750 before retiring to stud.

That was incredibly rewarding way to start a new venture !

At the time Dean Watt was a licenced syndicator and bloodstock consultant had been in the thoroughbred industry for over 23 years.

In December 2004, at the end of a highly successful year on the racetrack, he structured a change in his business model and went into partnership with Bruce Reid (a great bloke, friend and client) and together they established DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS.

Dean Watt & Bruce Reid

The first entry into the yearling sale ring under the new operation in January 2005 was very fruitful as not onlyUP’N’DOING performed well but another, more than handy yearling was purchased at the sales by Dean and his Dynamic Syndications team – A colt by Canny Lad x Ladies Day for $140,000 would hit the headlines. Named HE’S NO PIE EATER, this horse captured 2 x Gr1 wins in the CHIPPING NORTON and the ROSEHILL GUINEAS.

Sadly, Bruce never got to see the results of the new business. Bruce passed away suddenly just 3 months into our new venture.

The Estate of Bruce Reid kept the partnership going and together we had some terrific success and continued building the brand into a household name in the thoroughbred industry.

In late 2008, the Estate decided to withdraw from the partnership and the business process and administration settlement was completed in the first week of February 2009.

Fiona, Rachel, Adam & Deam Watt- Dynamic Syndications

Now a 100% family owned and run company, Dynamic Syndications rapidly grew under the freedom of the new corporate structure and the racetrack successes flowed.

This was immediately followed by REWARD FOR EFFORT’s great win in the 2009 BLUE DIAMOND Gr1.

Reward For Effort winning the Blue Diamond

Now 10 years on from our first runner winning on debut, the statics that follow the company’s success are amazing and unmatched by any peer in the industry.

Now with 33 years behind him, Dynamic Syndications Managing Director DEAN WATT has had the pleasure of being involved with 10 Individual Gr1 Winners that have won 13 Gr1 Races.

Dean has won the 3 Major 2yo Races: Golden Slipper, Blue Diamond and Magic Millions.

It’s incredible to consider this feat is so difficult that only one other person in the thoroughbred industry can claim this same feat. That was the legendary Bart Cummings.

Dean Watt syndicated and was the Racing Manager of SAVABEEL- Winner of the 2004 Cox Plate

Dean also has on his resume, the Cox Plate, the Rosehill Guineas (twice), Caulfield Guineas, Spring Champion Stakes, Chipping Norton, The Galaxy, Railway Stakes NZ, etc, etc, etc.

Hence why the company employed the very successful marketing campaign that was run several years ago - “WON IT”.

Specifically under the DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS banner, in exactly 10 years since our first runner was a winner we have recorded the following statistics (verified by independent audit):

433 Race Wins.

Since the 1st August 2008, which was the start of the 2008/09 Racing Season Dynamic Syndications purchased yearlings have averaged a –
“Winner a Week - Every Week for the Past 7 Years.”
(366 Winners in 364 Weeks)

From our yearling purchases over 10 years of buying under the Dynamic Syndications banner, these horses have produced the following statistics:

INDIVIDUAL RUNNERS - 172

INDIVIDUAL WINNERS - 148 = 86.1%

It’s one thing to state you’re the Market Leader but as the saying goes, there are “Lies, Lies and Damn Statistics”

The fact is DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS in all measurable ways employed to consider the success or otherwise of corporate operations, are not bettered by any other company nor individual.

This based upon the pillars of our business philosophy:

Transparency, Integrity, Client Service and Racetrack Results.

The Due Diligence our team put into every decision from selection and purchase of a yearling through to daily race management, has ensured we have achieved these incredible results for our ownership teams.

However we are acutely aware our success is achieved by high quality members of the team we employ:

Our Trainers and their Staff, Vets, Farriers, Agistment Properties, Pre-Trainers, Track Riders, Jockey’s, Transporters, Solicitors and Accountants that keep our business running as a well-oiled machine.

At the Coal Face we have the Best of the Best:

Fiona Watt is our Chief Financial Officer and her commitment to ensuring administration and compliance is exemplary.

Peter Wagstaff is our Owner Liaison Officer and keeps the lines of communications open with thousands of owners via reporting and direct communication via telephone.

Adam Watt has been the backbone of the business over the past 3 years. Since finishing his degree in Sports Marketing and Administration, Adam has taken the roll of Sales and Marketing to levels we never thought possible only a few years ago.

Dean Watt has been in the thoroughbred industry 33 years. He has successfully held a trainer’s licence, managed thoroughbred properties, has an industry specific tertiary qualification in Horse Husbandry and Management and has been an Official Judge at a Royal Show.

Dean is the Managing Director, Responsible Officer and Compliance Officer of the business.

Our sub-contractors are equally vital.

Gary Mudgway is our independent bloodstock consultant that allows Dean and Adam to have another set of eyes at the sales complexes, as we work through the hundreds of inspections of horses at each sale.

Dr. John Walker is our contracted veterinarian. John is without peer in the practical side of veterinary inspections and ensures we are fully aware of any potential areas of concern and ensures our zero tolerance policy to any x-ray issues remains observed.

Whilst Roy Davis and Tony Hall have been looking after Dean’s and Dynamic’s horses at Oakridge Spelling Farm and Wild Oaks Pre-Training Farm since 2002 and treat them like they are their own and have been a constant source of guiding and mentoring to the team at Dynamic.

Finally we acknowledge the MOST IMPORTANT members of TEAM DYNAMIC that have ensured our incredible success – our OWNERS.

Without our owners believing in the successful systems and due diligence we employ to make our business successful, the fact remains without our owners we do not have a business. There is no point doing what we do if owners didn’t buy the shares.

So on behalf of everyone at DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS we specifically thank our OWNERS for your support.

We look forward to continuing being the Market Leading & Most Successful Syndicators in the years to come.

Dynamic Syndication's Corporate Motto's are:

“Live the Dream – Join our Team”

“Race The Best With The Best”

“WON IT”
