Jockey Dwayne Dunn and his son Dylan have brought up an early family double at Caulfield with victories in consecutive races.

After 20-year-old apprentice Dylan Dunn started Saturday's Underwood Stakes meeting with victory aboard the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained Afleet Esprit, Dwayne got on the board a race later as he guided stablemate Firehouse Rock to win the $250,000 Inglis Cup.

"David (Hayes) is a great supporter of both of us and it's a big thrill for myself to be competing against Dylan and he's doing a great job to ride a winner," Dwayne Dunn said.

"This is the pointy end of the season for us and we need to put our hand up and be counted as well, so it's great that we both can ride a winner on a great day like today."

Dabernig said Firehouse Rock ($6) was a gelding which needed to get cover before being produced late and that's what Dwayne Dunn was able to do as Firehouse Rock raced to a short neck win over Gloryland in the 2000m race.

James Winks, the rider of third-placed Bondeiger, protested against the winner alleging interference from Firehouse Rock.

The objection was dismissed with stewards saying the margin of a short neck and a neck was too great and any interference was too close to the line.
