Vancouver eases for Golden Rose

Tuesday 1 September 2015, 9:31am

Vancouver has been displaced as favourite for the $1 million Golden Rose following his third in a barrier trial at Rosehill.

Godolphin colt Exosphere now heads the market at $3 with Vancouver easing from $2.70 to $4.

But Vancouver's jockey Tommy Berry is not concerned and says the colt is still on the right path despite being hard ridden in his heat over 1030 metres on Tuesday morning.

"He trialled nice. He's getting ready for a 1400 metre race now and he's looking for every bit of that," Berry told Sky Sports Radio.

"I'm really looking forward to the Golden Rose and he'll be a big player."

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Golden Slipper winner lost his unbeaten record when fourth in last month's San Domenico Stakes (1100m).
