Dale Smith will appeal an 11-meeting careless riding suspension, saying his mount's racing antics contributed to an incident at Sandown.
Smith was charged with two offences for his ride on Jobodwana on Wednesday, firstly for shifting out at the 900m mark and then shifting in nearing the 800m.
He is free to ride Prince Of Brooklyn in the Group Three H D F McNeil Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, his only ride for the day, before starting his suspension.
As it stands, the ban ends on September 9 allowing Smith to be back in time for the ride aboard Prince Of Brooklyn in the Listed Henry Bucks Plate (1400m) at Flemington on September 12.
