Japonisme Run To The Rose favourite

Thursday 27 August 2015, 6:27am

Saturday's edition of the Group Two Run To The Rose is set to be one of the most open in recent memory with six of the seven runners at single figure odds.

The Chris Waller-trained Japonisme is the $2.60 favourite to stretch his winning sequence to five when he is reunited with Hugh Bowman in the Golden Rose lead-up.

Bowman partnered the horse to his first-up win at Canterbury last month but has not been aboard the three-year-old since then.

Stablemate and Group One winner Press Statement is also being kept safe at $4.60, just behind Exosphere who is regarded as the leading chance for Godolphin at $4.40.

Melbourne raider Mr Optimistic is the only one of the seven runners not fancied as a $41 chance.

Punters are also struggling to narrow down the chances in the other feature race on the Rosehill program, the Listed Premier's Cup.

Godolphin's Magic Hurricane is $3.50 top pick with four of his seven rivals under double figures, including Bowman's mount Beyond Thankful.
