Gregers among Carlyon Stakes nominations

Quality sprinting mare Gregers headlines nominations for the Carlyon Stakes at Moonee Valley while Group One placegetter Odyssey Moon is among 22 entries for the McKenzie Stakes.

The two Listed events are the features on Saturday's Moonee Valley program with the 1000m Carlyon Stakes a set weights plus penalties sprint for four-year-olds and up while the McKenzie Stakes (1200m) is for three-year-old colts and geldings.

Gregers boasts strong Moonee Valley form and first-up statistics.

Should she resume on Saturday, the dual Group winner and multiple Group One placegetter will be chasing her first win in almost a year.

Gregers joins Barbed, Le Bonsir and Adelaide sprinter Eclair Choice on 57kg.

Acceptances for the meeting are taken on Wednesday.

Odyssey Moon, runner-up in the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes during the autumn, and Gold Busker, winner of the Listed Gold Sovereign Stakes at Launceston, both have 56.5kg in the McKenzie Stakes while the other 20 entries have 55kg.

Godolphin's Demonstrate, a luckless fourth in the Vain Stakes last Saturday at Caulfield is also in the mix for the McKenzie.
