Entries extended for P B Lawrence Stakes

Tuesday 11 August 2015, 6:38am

Nominations for Melbourne's first weight-for-age Group race of the season have been extended with 10 entries taken for the P B Lawrence Stakes.

The Group Two P B Lawrence (1400m) is one of four stakes races on Saturday's Caulfield program along with the Group Three Quezette Stakes for fillies, the Group Three Vain Stakes for colts and geldings and the Listed Regal Roller Stakes.

The Vain Stakes has attracted 19 nominations, one more than the Quezette while the Regal Roller has 23 entries headed by the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained Group One placegetter Fast `n' Rocking.

Hayes and Dabernig have two entries for the Lawrence Stakes with last season's Sandown Guineas winner Petrology and former Hong Kong galloper Dibayani set to take their places.

Dibayani has form behind the likes of Able Friend and Designs On Rome in Hong Kong last year and won a jump-out down the straight at Flemington recently in preparation for his first Melbourne start.

Extra nominations for the Lawrence Stakes close at 10am on Tuesday.
