Last season's Classic winners feature prominently in the TAB's Caulfield Cup market while Cox Plate invitee Arod is one of four joint-favourites for the weight-for-age feature at Moonee Valley.

There were 173 nominations on Tuesday for the Cox Plate and 209 for the Caulfield Cup.

New Zealand Derby and Australian Derby winner Mongolian Khan is the TAB's $10 favourite for the Caulfield Cup in first markets.

Australian Derby runner-up Hauraki is at $12 alongside Rosehill Guineas winner Volkstok'n'barrell.

Queensland Oaks winner Winx and Victoria Derby winner Preferment are among a group of six horses on the next line at $15 while Japanese horse Fame Game is at $21.

The Cox Plate market has Arod, a last-start second to Solow in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood, as equal $11 favourite with the globetrotting Criterion, Godolphin star Contributer and Doomben Cup winner Pornichet.

Last year's Cox Plate runner-up Fawkner is at $15 while Australian Guineas runner-up Alpine Eagle is at $17 along with Hartnell, Kermadec and the Aidan O'Brien-trained Cougar Mountain.
