Baster suspended at Moonee Valley

Saturday 1 August 2015, 6:11pm

Stephen Baster returned from an injury lay-off at Moonee Valley on Saturday but the jockey will have another stint on the sidelines after incurring a careless-riding suspension.

Baster was riding at his first meeting since mid-June after taking time off during winter because of tendonitis in an adductor muscle.

The jockey was suspended for seven meetings for shifting out aboard Westsouthwest at the 350m in the final race on Saturday, won by Crafty Cruiser.

Stewards found Baster's carelessness to be in the low-range and he will be out from after Monday's Darwin Cup meeting until August 11.
