McDonald outed for second time in a week

Saturday 1 August 2015, 5:54pm

After missing out on a European holiday in an unsuccessful bid to win last season's jockeys' premiership, James McDonald finds himself on the sidelines after a second suspension in three days.

McDonald returned from a six-week riding stint in England in mid-July to try to hold onto his premiership lead but he was denied by a late surge from Hugh Bowman.

Weighing in heavy at Wyong on Thursday had already cost McDonald the chance to ride at next week's Missile Stakes meeting.

He will now also miss San Domenico Stakes day a week later because of a careless-riding ban at Rosehill on Saturday, the first day of the new season.

McDonald was found guilty of shifting in on Coolring at the 900m of the 1300m race which he won on Countryman.

Coolring lost his running and finished last.
