Schofield lands first city win since April

Saturday 1 August 2015, 5:44pm

Hong Kong-bound Chad Schofield landed his first metropolitan success in Melbourne since April when Jetello scored at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

Since his victory aboard Red Bomber at Caulfield on April 18, Schofield spent time riding at the Brisbane winter carnival before an overseas stint in the United Kingdom and his native South Africa.

Backing up from a Swan Hill victory on Monday, Jetello ($7) scored by a length from Sir Mask ($14) in the Sweeney Estate Agents Handicap.

Schofield will now be sidelined for the next 11 meetings following a suspension at Cranbourne on Wednesday.

He said he would go to Sydney for a week to spend time with family and then return to Melbourne for four meetings before heading to Hong Kong.

"It's six months so it's quite a long time, so Mum was quite keen to have me go up (to Sydney) before I go," Schofield said.

"I'm booked to leave for Hong Kong on Sunday the 16th (of August) and I'll be straight into trials and trackwork."
