Bagman has completed a Moonee Valley double for racing's greybeards.
Nine-year-old Bagman joined fellow oldtimer Our Nkwazi who was successful earlier on Saturday's program.
Both gallopers ironically shared another feat as they were successful at the corresponding Moonee Valley meeting last year.
Bagman completed back-to-back victories in the Jockey Celebration Day Handicap under Damien Oliver, supplying last season's leading Melbourne jockey with a double having earlier scored on Petits Filous.
Easy in the betting to start a $4.40 favourite, Bagman scored a three-quarter length victory over Lord Durante ($8.50) with Diametric ($6) a half length away third.
Justine Hailes, Chris Waller's stable representative, said Bagman was such an honest horse and a pleasure to have around the stable.
"Week in and week out he's very tough," Hailes said.
"He's had a lot of injuries and problems and he's nine today so nothing seems to faze him."
Hailes said Bagman didn't do a lot of hard galloping between races but when fully fit maintains his form.
Stablemate Diametric pleased Hailes with his third placings, saying he appreciated the strong tempo.
"He'll go to Caulfield in two weeks time and should be spot on," she said.
