Injured jockey Amy Herrmann in rehab

Friday 31 July 2015, 5:40pm

Injured jockey Amy Herrmann is still suffering Post Traumatic Amnesia but has improved enough to be transferred to a rehabilitation centre in Adelaide.

Herrmann suffered head and spinal injuries when she fell from her horse after completing a jumps trial on June 19 at Morphettville.

A statement on behalf of her family said she had begun what would be an extended period of rehabilitation and was managing very well.

While she is still in the latter stages of PTA, the team responsible for her care say she is walking, talking and becoming much more aware of what has happened.

Ceremonies wil be held at race meetings around the country on Saturday to celebrate jockeys and remember those who have been injured or lost their lives in racing accidents.
