A study of weights and form will determine which race smart sprinter Tawteen resumes in at Moonee Valley.

The Lindsay Park operation of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig has the mare entered for an Open Handicap (1000m) and a Benchmark 90 (1200m) on Saturday.

Tawteen has been allocated 54kg in the short course sprint and 56kg in the 1200m race and tackles the older male gallopers for the first time in both races.

"We'll sit down and have a study of the form before making a final decision," Dabernig said.

That decision needs to be made before final acceptance time at 9.30am on Wednesday.

"She seems great and her work's been faultless," Dabernig said.

"She's lovely and healthy going into her first-up run."

Dabernig said Tawteen has won two Flemington jumpouts in preparation for her return after a disappointing end to her autumn campaign.

After racing well last spring, Tawteen was successful over 955m first-up which Dabernig said took a bit more out of her than anticipated.

"She's had the benefit of a good spell, so hopefully now as a four-year-old we can get her back," he said.

"She's a very fast sprinter and I would be thinking she'll be kept to between 1000 and 1200 metres."

Stablemate Haybah resumes in a three-year-old fillies Benchmark 78 race over 1000m in which she will carry 59kg.

After a poor debut performance at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day last spring, Haybah then went on to complete a successful first campaign despite beating just two home in the Golden Slipper.

Haybah placed in the Blue Diamond Prelude and the Chairman's Stakes at Sandown before winning the Cinderella Stakes at Morphettville to earn a shot at the Golden Slipper.

"She probably did surprise us a little bit," Dabernig said.

"We didn't have her in the Blue Diamond, but she was one of those horses that was a real professional and just thrived on training.

"She's got a great constitution and was a real robust type of two-year-old and hopefully it carries through to her three-year-old days."

Like Tawteen, Haybah has been successful in Flemington jumpouts for her return run.

Dabernig said Stephen Baster is booked to ride both gallopers in their return runs.

Classy Chanel is the only other Lindsay Park runner nominated for Moonee Valley and will take on Haybah with Dabernig saying the filly takes a big rise in grade from her return win at Geelong on July 7.
