Joe Pride has eyes for See The World

The Sydney trainers' title is done and dusted with Chris Waller more than 50 wins in front of his nearest rivals.

Waller is on 137 as he powers towards his fourth premiership with Godolphin trainer John O'Shea on 78-1/2, seven in front of Gai Waterhouse.

But behind the big three a fascinating battle for fourth position continues at Rosehill on Saturday with Joe Pride (42) one win ahead of the Hawkes training team.

Pride heads to the meeting with two runners and says he didn't expect to be in the position he is in.

"I knew I would have my work cut out to beat the Hawkes and the Snowdens so I'm pretty pleased with where we are now," Pride said.

"I thought it would be a battle. Peter and Paul Snowden have had a great season but we've had more winners in Sydney."

Casual Choice represents the Pride stable in the 1200m sprint while See The World lines up in the Listed Winter Stakes against many of the same horses he faced in the Civic Stakes two weeks ago.

See The World ran third behind Haussmann and Two Blue and meets the Civic Stakes winner two kilograms better but still gives Two Blue three kilos.

The weather will determine whether O'Shea starts Haussmann who is a market drifter with Two Blue the TAB's $4.60 favourite.

See The World is a $9 chance with Hugh Bowman to ride.

It will be See The World's fifth run since he had more than a year away from the track.

"He wasn't injured. We just decided to give him an extra long spell," Pride said.

"We brought him back for a preparation and gave him a couple of trials but I wasn't happy so we sent him out again.

"He's come back well this time. He doesn't mind wet tracks and I'm very happy going into the race."

Bowman goes to Rosehill 1-1/2 wins behind joint premiership leaders James McDonald and Blake Shinn with four Sydney meetings left this season.
