Dunn posts 50th metro winner of the season

Saturday 4 July 2015, 1:28pm

Dwayne Dunn has joined Craig Williams in the Melbourne jockeys' premiership lead with a milestone win at Caulfield.

Dunn's victory aboard favourite Pilly's Wish on Saturday brought up his 50th Victorian metropolitan winner of the season.

He is fighting out the premiership with Williams and Damien Oliver.

Williams is serving a careless riding suspension this week and missed the Caulfield meeting.

Dunn had Pilly's Wish ($3) in a midfield position before he had his mount in a striking position on the turn.

Pilly's Wish sprinted to the lead before holding on to beat Elle Excite by a neck with a half neck to Khutulun in third.

"There's a little while to go yet (in the premiership) but it's going to be a good battle all the way to the end," Dunn said.
