Kiseki Dane posts Significant Rosehill win

Saturday 27 June 2015, 1:55pm

Mick Dwyer spends much of the time travelling horses around the country areas of NSW and rarely comes to town.

So the win of Kiseki Dane in a race aptly named the Significant Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday is one for the Newcastle trainer to savour.

One of the outsiders in the 1900m race, Kiseki Dane ($31) finished much too strongly for his city cousins to beat the odds-on favourite It's About You ($1.95) by half a length.

"It is just fantastic," Dwyer said.

"I've had a winner at Canterbury but to bring this horse here to win on a Saturday is a great thrill.

"My son rode him to win at Muswellbrook. He won by two-and-a-half lengths but Craig said if he had got clear on the turn he would have won by ten.

"His form is as good as anything in the bush and this race looked ideal."

Koby Jennings replaced Craig Dwyer on the gelding who was a bit of a handful before and after the race.

"We sent him out with the pony and he was a bit excited," Dwyer said.

Kiseki Dane also had enough energy after the race to toss Jennings off with the apprentice landing on his feet.

Dwyer's other city winner was Dubai Dusk in January, 2014.
