Diademe inquiry adjourned

Sunday 21 June 2015, 6:01pm

Queensland stewards expect it will be two weeks before they can reconvene an inquiry into the possible race day treatment of Diademe.

The Bjorn Baker-trained mare was withdrawn about an hour before Saturday's Group One Tattersall's Tiara at the Gold Coast after stewards received information from Integrity Regulatory Unit officers John Hackett and Norm Torpey.

Hackett and Torpey visited the Gold Coast stables of Alicia Willick where the Sydney-trained mare was being housed and found five bottles containing liquid.

Four bottles labelled Kentucky Green were unopened and one unlabelled bottle was open. They also found four unused syringes.

There was conflicting evidence from stablehand Glenn Lobb, who was with Diademe, and Willick.

Gold Coast chief steward Ian Brown said as a result his panel could not be comfortably satisfied Diademe had not received treatment on Saturday.

Stewards adjourned the inquiry so the liquid could be analysed along with blood tests from Diademe.
