Srikandi draws outside barrier in Tiara

Wednesday 17 June 2015, 9:56am

Stradbroke Handicap winner Srikandi has drawn the outside barrier for the Tattersall's Tiara at the Gold Coast, the final Group One race of the season.

There are 20 fillies and mares declared for Saturday's race which has a maximum field of 16.

The highly fancied Najoom from the Gai Waterhouse stable is the second emergency with the ballot determined by prize money.

Sydney mare Avoid Lightning will jump from gate one and will get her preferred soft conditions with the track in the heavy range on Wednesday.

Avoid Lightning ran a close third in the Tiara a year ago.

Catkins has drawn barrier three and if she wins, she will take trainer Chris Waller's Group One tally for the season to 15.
