Chad Schofield rides winner in England

Saturday 6 June 2015, 9:07am

Australian jockey Chad Schofield has ridden his first winner in England aboard Imtiyaaz for trainer Roger Varian.

The odds-on chance lived up to her favouritism with a 4-1/2 length victory in an 1100m maiden at Bath on Friday.

Schofield is spending the Australian winter in England and has been riding Royal Ascot aspirant Criterion in trackwork.

He is one of three jockeys under consideration for the ride in the Princes Of Wales's Stakes with trainer David Hayes and owner Sir Owen Glenn to make a decision next week.

Damien Oliver and Craig Williams, who rode the horse to win the Queen Elizabeth Stakes in the Sydney autumn, are also in the mix.
