Prime Thoroughbreds were back in the winner's circle at Randwick on Monday with Mosse Diva (pictured), continuing a great run of success for Joe O'Neill and his team of happy owners.
The David Hayes trained daughter of Danzero saluted in the Benchmark 70 event over 1400 metres, her second win from seven starts.
Joe O'Neill offers some thought on syndication - It is 15 years since I retired as a Major from the Australian Army to set up Prime Thoroughbreds in partnership with my good friend Bill Mitchell as well as filling the roll as his racing manager.
We had some great times together with horses such as Dignity Dancer, Kenwood Melody, General Nediym, Akenhaton and Snippets Lass (dam of Snitzel and Hinchinbrook) being among the stars Bill trained while I was with him.
Added to these horses were the Prime Thoroughbreds syndicated horses such as Under Command, Calming, Zero Drama, Desk Top Lover, Holding, Crocker, Transparent Lass, Unabated and Polish The Silver just to name a few that just kept winning races.
It certainly has been an interesting 15 years with some terrific highs and the also the disppointments that come with racing horses. Last night I was reflecting back on Epsom day 1997, my first day on the job when Bill was unlucky not to win the Epsom with Blazing Steel that came with a withering finish for third.
I am proud that we have come through some incredibly challenging times including the Equine Influenza outbreak and more recently the global economic issues that drained so much confidence in our market.
Today, I have about 55 racehorses under management aged from yearlings up to seven year olds. We also manage some very nice mares and have had foals born to sires such as Hinchinbrook, Magic Albert, I Am invincible, Mossman and Nicconi.
These foals are out of mares we syndicated and raced and have produced horses of the calibre of Too Many Reds, Believe'N'Achieve, Number One Gun and Sea Tryst. I also noticed that Whittington, one of the favourites for the Breeder's Plate this Saturday is out of a Prime Thoroughbreds syndicated mare, the Tasmanian Oaks winner Maha Chakri.

Tony McEvoy - two horses having six starts for four metropolitan wins (winning strike rate 66.6%), Our Sphinx 3 wins Unser one win.
Tony Gollan - two horses having five starts for three metropolitan wins (winning strike rate 60%), Too Many Reds three wins.
Charlie Goggin - with four horses having four starts for one metropolitan win (winning strike rate 25%) Alainn one win.
Kris Lees - with seven horses having 19 starts for five wins (winning strike rate 26.3%) Sweet Talkin Woman, Pitt Street, Admiral's Cup, Ohmygod and Namsarai one win each.
David Hayes - with four horses having eight starts for two wins (winning strike rate 25%) Mosse Diva and Zedi Power one win each.
In total 19 individual horses have carried our colours with 11 winning 15 races (10 metropolitan) from 42 starts for a winning strike rate of 35.7%.
