Chris Waller to start five in Doomben Cup

Chris Waller will have weight of numbers in his favour with five runners in the Group One Doomben Cup on Saturday.

Waller has accepted with Foreteller, Moriarty, Hawkspur, Weary and I'm Imposing, the contingent making up a third of the 15-horse field.

Among their rivals will be 2012 Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon, last-start Hollindale Stakes victor Leebaz and the Gai Waterhouse-trained Pornichet who backs up from his Toowoomba Cup win.

The Group One BTC Cup has attracted a field of 16 including prolific winner Our Boy Malachi who has been set his first test at the elite level.

He has drawn well in barrier seven while his Hawkes Racing stablemate Nostradamus has come up with the outside gate.

Nostradamus is one of four three-year-olds contesting Saturday's sprint along with Scissor Kick, Time For War and filly Bring Me The Maid.

First-up Victory Stakes winner Srikandi is scheduled to continue her Brisbane winter campaign in the feature which also includes smart local sprinters Temple Of Boom and Cape Kidnappers.
