Murwillumbah based trainer Matthew Dunn turned out our Dynamic 3yo Filly Action Button (Choisir ex Carlton Show) in magnificent order at Murwillumbah this afternoon and the Sky Channel “Pick Of The Yard” duly saluted, starting at a staggering $10.00 on the NSW tote.

Ridden perfectly as per our instruction, jockey Jeff Lloyd left his peers with no chance, as Action Button won Race 5 – the Norco Rural Murwillumbah Class 1 Handicap (1200) 

As a 3yo filly, Action Button also picked up the added BOBS Bonus of $5,000.

On the Good 3 rated track they recorded 1:11.03 Last 600m: 0:36.19.

Coming from barrier 11 in a field of 12, our request was to be positive, in a race that looked not to have much pace on paper. Jumping away fairly and settling mid-field after a few strides, Jeff allowed Action Button to balance up then after the first 150m he drove our filly forward to land at the girth of the leader.

The pair controlled the race off the front until the approach into the home turn, where Jeff asked our filly to extend, which she did with ease putting a gap of 3 lengths on those chasing.

Approaching the 100m mark, Jeff had those chasing him off the bit so he allowed our filly to ease down over the final 75m to record a 2 length winning margin.

The stable also had the quinella as Matthew Dunn’s other runner Olive Com ran on well to finish in second position whilst the third horse Lambency was a further 1.8 lengths behind.

Action Button has now had 7 race starts: 2 wins – 1 second – 1 third and earned $31,850 in prizemoney and this is her second BOBS Bonus. 

She has had 3 runs this preparation for 2 wins.

Two starts ago she broke her maiden by a staggering 5.5 lengths before finding a very heavy track at her most recent start which she simply didn’t handle, running 7th of 7 finishing over 29 lengths from the  winner. However back on top of the ground today, she was never in danger.
