First Seal ordered back to barrier trials

Saturday 28 March 2015, 6:50pm

First Seal will have to barrier trial ahead of her next Group One target after bleeding from one nostril in the Vinery Stud Stakes.

The filly was narrowly beaten by Fenway in Saturday's Group One race at Rosehill and won't back up in next weekend's Doncaster Mile at Randwick.

Trainer John Thompson believed First Seal might have knocked her head and said her next start would be in the $1 million Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on April 11.

The Sydney autumn carnival campaign of Opinion is in doubt after he was eased out of The BMW when jockey Tye Angland felt his action change midrace.

The Chris Waller-trained stayer was later found to be lame in his off foreleg and will be vetted on Monday.
