Take two of This Is Australia's career will begin at Randwick with new trainer Gerald Ryan pleased with the colt's progress.
A half brother to Group One winner All American, This Is Australia was a handful as a youngster because of his size and headstrong ways.
He has his fourth start on Wednesday for his owner/breeder John Singleton when he runs in the 1100m three-year-old maiden.
This is Australia had three starts for Clarry Conners but was stripped of his debut win in September after a positive test to the pain killer lignocaine.
Ryan said the colt came to him in an attempt to curb his wayward tendencies.
"John Singleton was looking for a change of environment for him. He was a bit of a handful," Ryan said.
"He spent time up at Scone for some re-education and came to me about six weeks ago and has adapted really well.
"His trial was very good. He led and was relaxed doing it and won.
"His racing manners were a problem but I'm hoping he has grown out of it."
Jim Cassidy will ride This Is Australia while European jockey William Buick will have his first Sydney ride in the same race when he climbs aboard Hexagonal.
The Godolphin rider is in Sydney to get a sense of local racing ahead of the Golden Slipper meeting on March 21.
Godolphin's other contracted jockey James Doyle will be riding at Flemington on Saturday.
Among his mounts will be Hartnell in the Australian Cup if O'Shea decides to send him south.
Runner-up to stablemate Contributer in the Chipping Norton Stakes with Doyle aboard, Hartnell has also been entered for the Group Three Sky High Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill with O'Shea to accept in both races.
Buick has also been booked for the Chris Waller-trained two-year-old Navua Mist at the Randwick meeting.
