Tiz My View fresh for Flemington sprint

Friday 6 March 2015, 5:42pm

Sam Pritchard-Gordon has opted for a stakes race at Flemington over a lesser event at Moonee Valley two days later, convinced Tiz My View is a better chance than her odds suggests.

Pritchard-Gordon has replaced winkers with blinkers on the filly for Saturday's Festival Of Racing 1000 (1000m) and believes the $23 chance has improved since being freshened after her last-start sixth in the Blue Diamond Preview.

"We've given her a jump-out with the blinkers on at Balnarring and she was slick. She ran away with the jump-out and has certainly improved since the Preview," Pritchard-Gordon said.

"So despite the odds, there's a bit of confidence in the camp."

Tiz My View finished third to Take Pride and Air Apparent over the same course and distance on debut on January 1 and then stepped out in the fillies' Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) at Sandown on Australia Day.

She boxed on for sixth in the race won by Fontiton.

That convinced Pritchard-Gordon Tiz My View wasn't a Blue Diamond contender.

He hopes she can snare some black type on Saturday and while marking the $250,000 Vobis Gold Rush at Bendigo two weeks later as an ideal race.

Speedy filly Heatherly is favourite at $3.30 in Saturday's nine-horse field ahead of the Mick Price-trained colt Ready For Victory ($3.50) who makes his debut.

Talindert Stakes placegetter Take Pride holds the third line just ahead of Claudia Jean who has overcome a bruised heel which forced her to be scratched from last Saturday's Blue Diamond Stakes.

Like Take Pride, Claudia Jean has won down the straight at Flemington.

Our Vidia, a $9 chance, scored a debut win at Moonee Valley and trainer Byron Cozamanis said the filly had always shown talent.
