Darren Flindell will return from Hong Kong to take up the position as Sydney's chief race caller for the TAB-owned Sky Channel.
Flindell, who has been calling Hong Kong races for 16 years, will take up the role left vacant by the departure of Matt Hill to pursue sports commentary in Melbourne.
NSW authorities have reached agreement with Sky over broadcasting rights, signalling the end of rival telecaster TVN.
Sky World, the dedicated thoroughbred showcase channel, will become available as part of the Foxtel base package.
Flindell said he was thrilled to be coming home.
"It is a childhood dream to return to this position in Sydney," Flindell said.
"I worked closely with Ian Craig as his assistant on race days at 2KY for a number of years and always had aspirations to follow in his footsteps one day.
"This is a very exciting time for Sky Racing and I look forward to being a part of the new coverage which will reach new heights with a much bigger audience this autumn.
Flindell is expected to call his first Sydney meeting on March 19 at Warwick Farm.
