Doomben racing in doubt

Heavy rain has caused Saturday's Gold Coast meeting to be abandoned with the Doomben fixture in doubt.

A decision on the Brisbane meeting will be made after a track inspection at 5.30am (AEST) with 110mm falling in the 24 hours until 5pm Friday.

The Gold Coast received 180mm in 24 hours taking the weekly total to 210mm.

The rain also took its toll on racing at Ipswich on Friday.

Further rain is forecast in South East Queensland.
